Showcasing improved technologies directly on farmers' fields across all 9 development blocks of Jalaun
Bridging the gap between research and farmers' fields
Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs) are conducted on farmers' fields to demonstrate the performance of improved technologies — new varieties, better agronomic practices, integrated crop management — under actual field conditions. KVK Jalaun conducts FLDs across all major crops of Jalaun district, helping farmers see the difference improved technology makes on their own land.
| Crop | Season | Key Technology Demonstrated |
|---|---|---|
| Wheat | Rabi | Improved varieties, line sowing, balanced fertilizer, timely irrigation |
| Gram | Rabi | Kabuli gram varieties, seed treatment with Rhizobium, IPM |
| Mustard | Rabi | High-yielding varieties, sulphur application, weed management |
| Lentil | Rabi | Improved short-duration varieties, seed treatment |
| Field Pea | Rabi | Improved varieties, Rhizobium inoculation |
| Sesamum | Kharif | Improved varieties, optimum plant population, weed management |
| Urd | Kharif | Short-duration varieties, Rhizobium seed treatment, pod borer management |
| Pigeon Pea | Kharif | Improved varieties, wilt resistance, plant protection |
| Moong | Zaid | Short-duration varieties, irrigation scheduling |
Cluster Front Line Demonstrations for oilseed crops
Under the Cluster Front Line Demonstration (CFLD) programme for oilseeds, KVK Jalaun has recently distributed certified seed of improved oilseed varieties to farmers across multiple development blocks of Jalaun district.
The CFLD programme focuses on sesamum (Kharif) and mustard (Rabi) — the two primary oilseed crops of the district — demonstrating improved varieties and production practices to reduce the yield gap and increase oilseed production in Jalaun.
